So specifically what you've heard may not be fully true in the final, but a number of elements remain. The game has been going through some huge changes to make it more like a "mainline" title, big changes to the story, characters, etc. The Ambassador leaks about Werewolves and Ethan in a Snowy Village are 100% true, but they're outdated info. So the game's been given an additional year in the oven to convert itself to RE8. Revelations 3 was received a lot better by testers, internally, etc, than they expected. But Capcom didn't want a huge gap between RE7 and RE8, so that title got pushed to the side for now, & internal testing and such was super positive on Rev 3. The reason I said RE8 was "years away" earlier this year is last year a RE8 was in development, & that one is years away. AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem April 4, 2020 During most of its development it existed as Revelations 3. "Resident Evil 2021" is Resident Evil 8, but it wasn't always RE8. This will be breaking this month with more details later not by myself, but I've needed to clear some stuff up. We should see soon if there’s any warrant to all this. While AestheticGamer has been pretty accurate in the past in regards to plans for the series, he has gotten his share of information wrong as well. Of course, in the end, take all of this with a big grain of salt. It’s unclear if he means someone else will be leaking this information or if an official reveal is coming. AestheticGamer claims we’ll find out about this game soon, though not from him. If you haven’t been following, this has actually been a bit of a back and forth of leaks of the alleged content of Resident Evil 8 that includes werewolves and witches and all kinds of spooky things. I’m not too sure how that is much of a departure from this series, but that’s what the man says. He claims there will be a lot of insanity, cultism and hallucinations, something fans may not take to right off the bat.

This game will be something of a departure, and could follow Ethan from Resident Evil 7 (though he’s not clear if that’s still the case). Allegedly, it tested so well that Capcom refitted the game into Resident Evil 8. While that may seem like quite the surprise, he said this game was originally being developed as Revelations 3.

According to him, the next title will actually be Resident Evil 8 and cross-gen. Well known leaker and insider AestheticGamer (known as Dusk Golem in some circles) has been teasing information about the 2021 entry in the series, and now seems to have finally given the big (alleged) reveal.

I have no idea how accurate some of this is going to be, but it is some juicy stuff. The latest game in the franchise just released officially today, but dammed if the rumor mill isn’t already churning on the next 2021 entry. If you’re anything like me, you’re doing your best to enjoy and finish the recently released Resident Evil 3 in these trying times.
